Know Before You Go

We’re dedicated to joyful learning, creativity, and community—a place where children and families come together to explore, create, and play. To help ensure everyone has a safe, fun, and welcoming experience, please review our visitor guidelines and helpful FAQs.

You’ll find important information on tickets, hours, museum policies, accessibility, and more—all organized in easy-to-browse sections to help you plan your visit.

For general questions, please email us at [email protected]. If you know the department you need, you can find contact information—including email addresses and phone numbers—in the FAQ.

CMOM is designed especially for children ages 0–6, a time of important brain development and growth. Our hands-on exhibits and programs support early learning through play, creativity, and exploration. While older children may enjoy select exhibits and programs, most of our spaces are specifically created for toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary-age kids. We encourage grown-ups to play too!

To keep our exhibits clean, safe for play, and free of allergens, food and beverages are not allowed inside the building. We do allow baby formula and water, and there are water bottle refill stations by the restrooms. While CMOM does not offer a cafeteria, you are welcome to leave and return throughout the day to enjoy nearby dining options and discount offers.

For your convenience, complimentary stroller and coat check is available at CMOM. To ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all visitors, strollers are not permitted in exhibit areas.

Visiting with a group of 15 or more students, campers, or a large group? On weekdays we offer specially curated 90-minute guided tours led by our expert educators. Advanced reservations are required to ensure the best experience for your group. Visit our Guided Field Trips page and contact our team for more information.

CMOM is committed to being a welcoming space for all visitors. The Museum is wheelchair accessible. Please note that the lower level of the Dynamic H2O exhibition has limited accessibility. Personal care attendants accompanying visitors with disabilities receive free admission.

We offer a fully accessible restroom on the Third Floor and an ambulatory accessible restroom on the Lower Level.

We also have accessible elevators and stroller parking. If you need assistance during your visit, our staff is happy to help.

Personal care attendants accompanying visitors with disabilities receive free admission.

Sensory Kits are also available to borrow at no additional cost during your visit. Each kit is designed to help children regulate, refocus, and feel at ease, and includes:

  • Over-the-ear headphones for noise reduction
  • A sand timer to support transitions
  • Fidget toys to encourage self-regulation and focus

Kits are available at the Admissions desk and in PlayWorks on the 3rd floor. Simply check one out at the start of your visit and return it before you leave.
